8:30 PM

Like we said, Dad and Mom watch Antique's Roadshow every Monday night.

Antique's Roadshow

When we were growing up, Dad would put the TV in the closet. It didn't happen often, maybe every 3-5 months. It happened when he thought we were watching too much TV and it usually only lasted a week or 2. Fast forward 10 years and you'll find Mom and Dad on the sofa each Monday night watching Antique's Roadshow. Recently Dad did some roadshow research on a set of silverware (about $130). With all of the treasures that Mom has collected, we're bound to have something around here that's worth at least a couple thousand dollars. We probably have the original copy of the Declaration of Independence. Or Gandhi's walking stick. We're just waiting for someone to discover it.

Moment of Silence

Let's observe a quick moment of silence for the official end of summer.......thank you. Dad and Kait closed the pool over the weekend. It's always depressing to look out and see a huge tarp over it for the next 8 months or so. Here's a pool-closing tip: don't pick the scrawny girl with chicken arms to drag heavy buckets around the pool. It's not very efficient (or nice).

Pop-A-Lock

Ben likes to leave the keys in the car and keep it unlocked. Yesterday he decided to be on the safe side and lock the doors.

Pass the pie

Kent, known as Kenny around here, turns 21 tomorrow. We celebrated on Sunday. We spent hours getting the decorations juuuuust right.

Mom made burgers and brauts, one of Kent's favorite meals. He also likes pies more than cake so we had that tooMom's Pretty pie!Anna was set and ready to take a picture of him blowing out the candles, but he turned the wrong way.Getting his present out of the manly gift bag.The day before Kent & Kait went to the Clemson game. This was Fall 2008...And this picture was taken during freshman year, Fall 2005!

Happy Birthday Kent!

Shop till you Drop

Friday afternoon the chicks headed to the mall to do some serious wedding shopping.

We were looking for possible bridesmaid dresses, but couldn't resist the shoe sale at Dillards. Hunting for dressesWe shop in style.Anna heard "Here, try this one on" a bunch of times. We found some wedding shoes! Not the ones in the picture. Our shoe total = 5 pairs. We made a mental note that these shoes can be found at Sears so that we can buy them for Mom in a few years.

We're big on the pig

We're glad to report that Chips is eating and keeping it all inside. He's back to his old self again. He was the most exicted when Mom got back last night. She went away for 5 days and came back a liberated hippie. She's wearing one of the tshirts that we made while on vacation.
Happy Friday! Come on now, get your pig on.

Get Well Soon

Forget the dog whisperer stuff, we think our poor Chippers has salmonella! He eats the dry dog food that just got recalled. He puked and pooed all over the garage last night. We threw away a big tub of the dry dog food and bought a different brand. This is what he looked like this morning- totally wiped out and sad! Instead of paying to go to the vet (talk about super frugal) Dad put him on a liquid diet. It consists of water, a bouillon cub and a little bit of sugar. We think he's coming around so hopefully he can start eating dry food soon.
The good Samaritan award of the week goes to Big Papi because he cleaned up the garage, went to work for half of the day, made dinner, called the air conditioning guy when our air broke (it's still broken) AND cut Ben's hair. He even looks like a good Samaritan. He's rocking the socks and sandals- we could call him something like Nehemiah or Ezekiel.Things are falling apart, but we can smile about Anna's delicious muddy buddies!! YumO.

Patience, young grasshopper

Dad is not the dog whisperer. Chips woke him up at 3am this morning, he was running around in the garage. Dad didn't do anything. Fast forward to 6am.. Chips had pooed in the garage. Mom is the dog whisperer. Dad might not be good with reading dog's minds, but he's soon going to be a texting pro. We're trying to teach him so that he can get Ben's messages and be called a "Cool Dad." He's taught us calculus, algebra, geometry, biology and nursing.. now we get to teach him a thing or two! He's a slow learner when it comes to this stuff. He's still learning how to attach a document to an email.

Did you feed the dog?

Mom is in the upstate this week to complete some nursing requirements. She was flipping out before she left, but we're sure she'll do just fine. GO MA!
We're more worried about holding down the fort while she's gone. Who's going to feed the dog, make dinner, pack lunches, iron Dad's clothes, put chemicals in the pool, do the dishes, go grocery shopping? Wow, we sound spoiled. Maybe this is more of a vacation for her.The good news is that the computer will be open more often. She left this note in front of the keyboard while she went to get her hair cut last week. The computer will be open AND we'll actually be able to get to it now.

Fat Lump

Fat Lump. Not a cancer lump, not a tumor lump. Just fat.
We've gotten him checked out, but so far it's nothing serious. Chippers, we accept you just the way your are-- we look past the physical appearance. But we gotta admit...it's kinda creepy.

Party like it's 1957

Mom hit the nursing books on Saturday even though it was her birthday. She also wore camping-like clothes all day. We told her she had to look cute on her b-day so she put on two pearl necklaces. The preppy twins showed up for the lunch party today. One decked out in baby blue and one in salmon.Noodle showdown in the kitchen. How should we cook noodles properly? Hippie man gave up, daughter wins. Fiance, Kent, might be scared for his life... does he really want to have Noodle Showdowns for the next 40 or 50 years? It looks a little tense in the picture, but it was a goofy showdown.Sara was decked out in Dad's shirt to avoid spaghetti sauce spillage on her dress.Mom blowing out the candles on her lime cheesecake. She needed an extra set of hands to show off her new necklace!

A nursing jacket...now the pressure's on!!! Happy Birthday Ma.

College Road Trip

Ben and his friend, Graham, took off to Nashville, TN for the USC football game. They stopped by Covenant College and caught up with a few of Ben's friends. Great view close by the collegeBen had great seats to watch USC lose to Vanderbilt.

Dinner & a Musical

Happy 27th anniversary to the most unphotogenic couple alive! Their anniversary was yesterday. Dad had planned a getaway to the beach, but it got nixed earlier in the week when Hanna threatened to show up (Hanna the Hurricane, not an ex girlfriend) They went to dinner and then saw the West Side Story instead.

Hanna Banana

Our fearless leader collected emergency items in case Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hanna decided to pay us a visit. We have matches, batteries, a flashlight, canned milk and baked beans. Mom should have been a Girl Scouts leader.
