Catfish Nuggets

Thursday was Dad's 51st Birthday! Mom got him in the car along with Kent and Kait. He had no idea where he was going. He was convinced that we were driving to take our picture somewhere (uh, interesting guess). Here they are in the car- he's trying to get Ma to tell him what's going on. He was also super worried that Ben, Wes and Sara would show up to an empty house. He wasn't too worried about the other guys after Kait made a "phone call" to Wes telling him about the mini road trip. It wasn't until we pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant that he finally put all the pieces together. He might be a smart doctor, but he's not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to other aspects of life. We went to DOC's. This picture didn't come out, but it's the sign out front. It says "So good it'll make your tongue slap your forehead."

Here's some of the group. Wes was getting his drink. Can anyone spot the miracle in the picture?.... Dad sat still long enough for Mom to throw a cowboy hat on him...AND take a picture. Does everyone likes Ben's electrician work outfit?
After we chatted, chowed down on a southern buffet (including catfish nuggets. Yum) It was time for presents (the hat is back!) and goodbyes. Happy Birthday, Boss Man. We love you!

Flashback Friday

This is the last time it snowed "big" in our area. Back when Ben was chubby and Wes wore fuzzy, white warmers. It looks like we're going to get to relive the magic in the next couple of hours...stay tuned.

Excuses

The Super Bowl is a great excuse to hang out with your brother, sister, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Uncle, Dog...you name 'em. The new year has just started, but I think it's safe to say that this picture of Wes&Ben will be nominated for the Best Picture of 2010 A great excuse to wear goofy glasses
and to eat Ma's amazing sausage & cheese dip

Cake

The naked cake
This crumb layer is dedicated to Robin, the cake mentor.
Dad made the icing turn green...super green.
Dad & Kait have matching foreheads and noses!
The grass is a bit chunky... picked the wrong icing tip.

Throw in some yard lines & here's the finished product!

The cakes was supposed to be eaten by the youth group, but there was a ton of food at the super bowl party. Instead, 21 3rd graders (and 1 teacher) chowed down on it on Monday afternoon. The thing that thrilled them the most was that they had to use their hands.

Gamers

These guys were the Sunday afternoon gamers before the game. & Ben made it in a picture! He might not appear on the blog often, but he's around.

4 Eyes

Pastor Chuck is ready for the Big Game... nice shades!

Sledding at Burholme Park. Good times! Check out Dad's form... his third career should've been professional bowling.
