Hermit
Kent talks to strangers on the beach...
and plays with strangers on the beach...
and Anna talks to no one. Here is our technology hermit.
Creatures
Here are creatures that we found at the beach. If you go fishing (which we don't) you're likely to catch little sharks and sting ray, but we've only seen 1 or 2 people catch a regular ol' fish. Kent's holding a neighbor's freshly caught shark.
Some cranes were hanging out on the marsh one morning
We see a ton of sea turtle nests that are guarded with signs and sticks, but we've never seen the big hatching moment. Wes found this poor little guy that never made it to the ocean. Bless his heart.
IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE??? Every year we get stung by jellyfish and this year was particularly rough. Here is the Doctor and nurse trying to sooth the sting. Usually we shake it off, but we tried vinegar and baking soda. It wasn't the big cure and watch out...vinegar in a water bottle looks awfully like water in a water bottle.
The Doctor saved his own leg. Just like the show ER. What a hunk. Everyone got stung except for Mom, Sara and Kait. They spent a minimal amount of time in the water just to avoid it.
Here's the little sucker that does all the damage. They don't have brains so to get stung by a small piece of flubber that has no brain...it can make you super peeved.
While we sat in the tent, we were accompanied by all sorts of bugs. It was funny to see Ali with the bugs because he hasn't seen about half of the bugs that are down here.

Disclaimer
* Pears: a yellow/green fruit that one eats
* Pairs: more than one. Like a pair of socks
This disclaimer comes on the heels of this post and Ma's phone call
"Hello?"
"OK teacher... pairs. P-A-I-R-S"
"Thanks Ma, I know"
When a blog has been around for over 500 posts, you gotta switch it up every now and then. You also have to throw some typos and bad grammar in there, but that's usually accidental.
Food
Ma kept us eating like champs on vacation. Just call her Shelly Emeril Lagasse Parker. BAM!!! This was homemade pizza night & it's whole wheat dough in case any of you diet-eers were out there wondering.
Um, moment of silence for this next picture. Here is Ali partaking in his FIRST EVER s'more. He had about 3 more after this. It was love at first bite.
Who can eat a s'more without thinking of the classic movie The Sandlot?
Our annual shrimp night!!! This is the night where we stuff our faces with pounds of shrimp, compare "de-peeling techniques" and soak up lots of butter and cocktail sauce. Here are the Plain White T's doing some kitchen prep.
This side loves Shrimp Night...
and so does this side!!
A breakfast for champs.
Here are the up and coming chefs. They're prepping to make Sara's (now famous) apple pie. We also have our veteran chef in the back whipping up something delish.

("First you take the graham, you stick the chocolate on the graham. Then you roast the 'mallow. When the 'mallows flaming... you stick it on the chocolate. Then cover with the other end.")
If you miss the real flame on the grill or bonfire, give it a couple of seconds in the microwave...yummm

Post Beach
After we got back from our job, we took showers, got dinner ready, read, watched tv... we kept it low key.
One night we got hit by a storm and a bird flew into the porch. Kent and Wes saved the day and the bird. Thanks guys!
At the beginning of the storm, we lost power for a couple of hours. Ma lit a bunch of candles for us (how romaaaaantic!) But if you happen to be sitting by Ali when the storm comes and power goes off, he will hug you tightly and he might just claw your skin off. He blamed this on the scary movies that he's seen.
Ali could often be found on Mom and Dad's bed watching SpongeBob. He's a Sponge Bob junkie.
He's also a night owl- he comes alive!
We caught Wes totally engrossed in iCarly. It's ok Wes...we accept you just the way you are.
And we're all about team work here- Kent tried to get a knot out of Anna's back. Are you sick of beach posts yet?
