Real Love
We recently saw this picture that a church friend had taken. It's from the church picnic back in October. It's a perfect example of real love. Anna not only acknowledges the guy in the tyedye shirt and tube socks, but she even gets a picture with him. She probably even called him "Dad" sometime during the picnic. Real love, people.
Crisis
Every February we face a crisis... "What are we going to do on Sunday afternoons without football to watch?!?!" There's always something to do on Sundays for months and when it's taken away we feel completely lost. Some of us found something to do to pass the time while we wait for another football season.Mom is asleep because she probably woke up somewhere between the hours of 3AM and 5AM. If you're ever up with a crying baby or working the night shift, give her a call. She'd love to hear from you.Anna's just asleep. Maybe Dad's sermon?Kent's asleep because he woke up early to get to praise band practice.
Spot the Differences
Name 4 things that are different between the 2 pictures (answers below)Ben came for a visit yesterday and snuck in a nap. Chips found the nap spot appealing because this where he decided to sleep last night. This is clearly an illegal move and the good thing about having an old, super deaf dog is that you can grab the camera, turn on the lights for a better shot, take the picture and leave without him even knowing it. Why choose this spot when you have this spot? Maybe he likes the thrill of possibly getting caught. He's sneaky though, Mom didn't catch him this morning. He timed it perfectly.
4 Differences:
1) The coffee cup in picture 2
2) The blanket is in a different position
3) There's a rug on the sofa in picture 1
4) A person in picture 1, a dog in picture 2

Jimmie
Thursday night we had Dad's real party. The whole crew made it out for dinner. We enjoyed tasty meat from the grill and a new cheesecake recipe from Mom. After just one bite of the cheesecake, there was a unanimous decision to stick with the old recipe. Let's just say it tasted interesting. We started to wonder if it missing something like sugar.. or cream cheese. Mom and Dad both said it tasted like cheesecake after sitting one day. We'll just got ahead and trust their judgement on that one.
Dad goes on book buying sprees every so often so he said that he didn't need any presents. Mom couldn't resist... more about that soon...keep reading.Half of the crew. Post cheesecake tasting and still smiling!!Ben during intermission.
His present from Mom was an "authentic" Jimmie Hendrix shirt (his face is even on the tag), some beads and glasses. It's Dad's 50's look. Not only did Mom buy it....She convinced him to try it all on and wear it long enough for a picture. We voted for the "More Chest Hair Showing" Look, but that's all that he would go for. Lookin good, Dad, lookin good.

The Big One
Happy birthday to Big Papi today. He's been alive for half a century (Say it with us, "Wow, that is old). He got lots of birthday calls today. Do the numbers look familiar? There was a small crowd tonight for bday bash #1. We totally slacked off on the pictures too. Before we knew it, the cake was out and we had to rush to grab the camera. This is the "Wait!!! I gotta grab the camera!!!!" blurry picture. and before the camera could get ready for another shot, Chuckles had blown out the candle (yes, singular: the candle). He probably didn't even make a wish. Or smile.

Heavy Lifting
Good thing there's a hunky, (almost) 50 year young guy around here to help with heavy lifting. This is a sneak peak at the (future) Suits home furniture! Mom has an eye for good deals. All of it is from World Market.
Pizzeria Duo
Dad used to have the pizza crust recipe memorized because growing up we made pizza so often. Dad and Anna took on the task Friday night. One of the big changes in pizza night is whole wheat dough. Not quite the same, but if Dad keeps eating whole wheat and doing Sudoku puzzles, he might live until he's 109. Without 4-little-kid-chaos, Dad has way too much time to focus on how to cut and prepare the pizza. Does he secretly shine his forehead?

Fast Lane
Get ready for a bunch of pictures as we (finally) catch you up on highlights from our Philly trip.
Let us introduce you to life in the fast lane. People in the fast lane can't afford to miss even a second of local news, world news, weather and sports. We are missing out on TVs at the gas stations
and every checkout lane at the grocery store. It was a little overwhelming, but maybe we just aren't cut out for life in the fast lane...

Double Surprise
We worshipped at New Life on Sunday morning. Dad and Mom were some of the first members way back in the 80's and Dad was on staff for a few years so it's full of memories and good friends. It's good to be back after 8 years, but it's also kind of weird. People stay the same age in our heads, but not in real life! Lunch was at the Nothackers that afternoon. Kent and the girls relived fun memories from Wes and Sara's wedding by looking through their photo book. The Nothacker family and other women from New Life had a surprise wedding lunch planned!! Also a surprise gift from Pottery Barn! It was so kind and thoughtful of them!! We didn't get a picture of the rest of the group, but hopefully we can get them from someone.Whaddaya' think, Marita? Little did they know, but Kait & Kent planned to ask the Nothacker kids to be a part of the wedding so it was a DOUBLE surprise!! The Parker kids were flower girls/ringbarers in Pam and Rainer's wedding so the tradition continues! We met 2 new additions to their family. Mr. Tuckett is one of themand baby Emyah (Nothackers, help us out with the spelling!!) They've been her foster family since Christmas time! We wanted to take her back with us!!
Proud Poppa
Pup, Chips' son, stopped by Robin's house on Sunday night. Can you see the resemblance? If looks don't do it, actions will. We saw Pup because he got out of his house and took off. Unlike Chips, Pup has a buddy who gives him treats so he knows exactly where to go when he gets out. We think he looks exactly like Chips, just a lot lighter.
Apology
We would like to send a formal apology to the Philadelphia Eagles Fans. Specifically to the fans that we watched the game with. The Eagles were winning for so many weeks and then we came up to watch the game and they lost. Next year we won't come up and maybe...just maybe...the Eagles will make it to the Big Game. Even though they lost, we still had fun watching the game and munching on food. There were 4 families that we watched the game with, but we were careful to only take pictures of certain people. We didn't want to mess up the fans who were in the zone (Mary S!!) Elise, Kent and Marita enjoying the food
