Provolone Wit

After the game we headed to Geno's to get cheesestakes. It's the well known debate...which is better, Geno's or Pat's? We practiced our orders before we went up to the counter. PROVOLONE WIT. WIZ WIT. PROVOLONE WITOUT. Turns out Pat's is more harsh with their novice customers. Geno was pretty nice about it. Actually he just stood there for the most part.Wes and Kent also went to Pat's across the street and ordered one from there to compare. They voted for Pat's.As if cheesestakes weren't enough, we topped it off with Rita's!! YumO. Not really sure what's up with Kent in this picture. The gals (I don't know how our friend, Robin, escaped all of the pictures...?) Mango was the favorite order for this trip. There were many more trips to Rita's during the rest of the trip. We can't wait for the one to open up near our house!! We will be regular customers.

Take me out to the ball game

Wes and Sara planned our Thursday afternoon. They ordered tickets for the Phillies game! Robin came along with us. We haven't been to a Phillies game in such a long time and this time it was in the new stadium! The Phillies lost, but we still had a fun time. It was a little chilly! YaHOOO!It looks like the players were trying to spell out a wordIt was a bad idea to wear flip flops. Numb toes are no fun.Go Phils!A few players were signing autographs before the game, but we didn't have anything for them to sign! Even Kent and Anna were coldThe Nothackers let us borrow some gloves! Kait wore them the entire game.Twins!!

1 Stop

We hit the road Wednesday afternoon at 4pm and we were EXCITED Some of the backseat ridersA road trip is not complete without lots of candyAnna listening to Bill CosbyThis picture is dark, but if you look closely you will see Sara. It's proof that both she and Mom were asleep by 7PM. She made a nice comeback and we enjoyed a movie from 8-10PMIf we zoom into one picture that Mom took, we catch a model in the middle seat. Work it, Wes, work it.This was around midnight. We got a bit antsy around that time. We finally rolled into Philly at 2:30 AM. The exciting part was that we only made 1 stop on the way up. That might be a new record!

Squeeze the Lemon

Change of plans- Kent got 2 extra days off of work so he and Anna will be joining the rest of the crew in the rented minivan. It's going to be a tight squeeze tomorrow. That just makes the bonding much more intense. We kinda like it that way...
The big question of the weekend is Will Dad break his "lifestyle"? How many fries will he eat? Will he eat (gasp) white bread instead of wheat? Or will he stay strong? Stay tuned.

Excitement

Things we're excited about...

1) Anna got her graduation stuff! It'll be here before we know it.

2) Darth Vader has arrived...

....twice3) Response cards
4) The porch is pollen free and has new paint.

It's the small things in life that make it exciting!

Road Trip

Guess where we're heading? Mom, Dad, Wes, Sara and Kait in one car. Kent and Anna in another car on a later day. Ben and Chips are staying back to hold the fort down . This is Sara's inaugural visit to the old stomping grounds!

Muffin Man

Ben is getting guitar lessons. The teacher comes about every night and they have a jam session. Here he is at a Young Life Retreat making the girls go crazy with his mad skills. Girls love guys who can play the guitar so that pretty much bumps him right up into the coveted Stud Muffin Category. Oh yeah and his teacher is youtube!

Easter Lunch

We nixxed the traditionally Easter pictures and family Easter lunch to eat with some people from a local outreach. The organization is designed to give families a place to stay until they can get back on their feet. This is the way they share the love of Jesus with them. Hey! Look whose back from her trip!! Sissypoo!
The guys helped bring chairs in for the lunch.

Double Bubble

This post starts off with a picture of Big Poppy. Why? He loves wedding showers. If you think you love them, you haven't seen this guy at a shower yet... That's why he's wearing all black. Wes and Sara were the hosts of a fun wedding shower about 2 weeks ago.
2 bridesmaids: Becky and MadisonSo festive! This is Sara's artsy creation...can you tell what the letters spell??The pre-food tableCookies from Savannah. YumO.Benji was a guest! There were fun get-to-know-Kent and Kait games. This is Kent's brother, Burk, and his wife, Ashley, and their son BJ.Shel and Janet chatting it upOne game was to answer questions about each other that you created about yourself. For every wrong answer you had a eat a couple of pieces of double bubble gum. Now make a bubble! You can probably guess the loser of the game.. Kent's questions were way to hard Anna and Charlotte
"Grilling in the rainnnn, just grilling in the rainnnnn. What a glorious feelin' I'm happy again"
Kent liked to pose for a picture after every gift was opened. This is Kait's "Are we really posing for another picture?" face.
Ma and Pa gave a magazine subscription to Real Simple magazine! 3 cheers for eating bonbons, watching daytime TV and reading magazines. The host and hostess! The guys didn't get the goofy memo.Mom was talking about smooching Dad and then she went in for the peck. Scarring, very scarring.
