How much does that cost?

Kait got her first eye exam yesterday. After that Mom took her to Target to look at some kitchen door knobs. Usually Mom is the one always asking "What's this price?" or "How much does that cost?" because she doesn't have her ($5 Walmart) glasses with her. This time, because of the eye drops, Kait couldn't see anything up close so Mom had to read all the prices to her. It was a good thing Mom remembered her glasses or it would have been quite a scene. The wrap-around shades are pretty awesome. What a nice guy. Wes must have been working around here. He stopped by and left a note! We have to give him props for the handwriting. It is pretty neat for a guy, don't you think? We suffered long and hard to get Dad through medical school :) It is paying off though!! His patients bring him treats around Christmas time. Yesterday he got his first present- chocolate covered pecans. KEEP 'EM COMIN!

Technology at its Best

Every year Anna makes up a (VERY detailed) Birthday/Christmas list. She thinks long and hard about the items that should be on the list. The list is up again. Front and center on the refrigerator. Each year she has hand written the list using markers, making a cutsie pattern. This year, however, she's gone HIGH TECH! It's hard to tell in the this picture, but the important items were even typed in bold font.

Thanksgiving

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations" Psalm 100:4 & 5

We went to Ashley(Dad's neice) and Trevor's home for Thanksgiving. It's always great to gather with familY& friends and enjoy each other's company, good food and of course...FOOTBALL!

Mom is always scared when Ben drives, but it triples whenever there's rain. He had about 4 backseat drivers. Squished in the backseat togetherDad, Trevor, Uncle Ron (Dad's older brother)Barbara (Trevor's Mom), Gran (Dad's Mom), Ashley, Aunt Martha (Dad's sister)Gran helped Meghan(our 2nd cousin) to find a good piece of dessert :)

Let The Eating Begin!

Looks like we are already tired of the baking and it's not even Thanksgiving yet! A lot of time was spent in the kitchen today making cookies, apple pie, mashed potatoes. Dad grilled some chicken for us. Wes and Sara will be with Sara's family for Thanksgiving so they came for dinner tonight! The before shot of the sugar cookies
After!! Believe it or not, that is supposed to be a turkey...Sara is the newest addition to the "Secret Santa" name picking. We did that tonight and it worked on the first try! We each got a different person's name- some years we've had to pick over and over again.

Pros & Cons

Mom and Kait went to visit Grandma and Mom's sister, Lynn, and her family. The good things about visiting... we had a lot of fun!!

1) Fast Food: Chick fil A, Pizza and Zaxby's all within 24 hours
2) Family time
3) Kait learned to play the Lottery

The bad THING about visiting...... meet Lucy. She's a wild thing and will follow you everywhere. It's not even worth sitting on any of the living room furniture because she will want attention non stop. Kait sat behind the sofa and Lucy walked back and forth on the back of the sofa trying to get some lovin'.
Mom and Lucy watching OprahWe expected Grandma to teach us how to sew, cook, clean... but we weren't expecting the Lotto-Lesson. We didn't win :)Saturday morning chatKait's taking an art class so Grandma loaded her up with art supplies! One big reason we went to visit was to meet the newest addition, Christopher. Aunt Lynn's a GRAAAAANDMA now!!!Ashley and ChristopherWe came home to this. Anna stuffs her nose whenever she has a cold!

Singin for Joy

Anna's chorus class sells cheese cakes for their fundraiser each year. They came in yesterday. Who needs Thanksgiving dinner when you've got CHEESE CAKE?? The only bad news is that we accidentally ate 3 pieces from our Grandma's instead of the one we order. Oops!

Boys

With the boys gone...we don't have to tip toe around sports illustrated magazines and the sports section of the newspaper to get to the toilet, the ice cream is around for so much longer, we have more time with the tv clicker, the girls rule the second floor, dinner conversations center around three things: boys, clothes and makeup.
With the boys gone... there are less people to blame the dirty bathroom on, no one to share the icecream with, the tv is dominated by old parents who only watch nature shows on PBS, the second floor is too quiet and so is dinner. What fun is it to talk about boys, clothes and makeup if there's no one to make fun of you while you blab on and on? We miss you guys!!

A Little TLC

Mom and Dad had the Elders, Deacons and their wives over for dinner on Friday night. We watch tons of home makover shows on TLC (when we are somewhere with cable!) We finally had an excuse to try out our decorating skills! Who said men can't multi task? The hostess with the mostess! He was working on his sermon on the back porch. This is proof that the cooler weather has arrived! Our Sunday afternoon avid football watcher and avid sleeper
