For this Friday, we are flashing back to childhood homes. This is Sparks Street House. The green-ness was added later on...This is 7th Street House. Lots of memories created in both places!

Happy Appy Man
With 11 hours in the car, you can only chat about life for so long. This rental car rocked our world with Sirius Radio. We don't even know how many radio stations we could actually get, but we know that at one point we were listening to the traffic report for San Diego. Killer. Sirius. Radio.
Shortly after passing the PA welcome sign, there was a guy walking above the highway. He was decked out in full camping gear. Seems odd, but then there was an Appalachian Trail sign. After passing him, Kait suggested that we should've stopped to get his story. Ya know, maybe he was a cancer survivor and this was his dream. Maybe he had cancer and this was his last goal in life. Maybe his Aunt had cancer and he was raising money for her... the possibilities are endless.

Ma pulled a U-Turn and we hiked into a backyard that had "No Trespassing" signs all over and a plastic guard dog chained to a tree. Plastic. Turns out this hike didn't have anything to do with cancer (that we know of) He just works for the Parks Place. BUT he was from Tennessee and he had hiked to New Hampshire. He was on his way back- he had been at it for 3 months. Pretty impressive.

Roll on Highway
Ma's friend, Shelly, had a son getting married this past weekend. Those who were able (Shelly and Kait) skipped out on work for two days and hit the road. Take off time was Thursday night at 9:30 PM. Ma deemed us "Foolish, foolish girls" for leaving so late.We stopped at 12:15 AM at a Super 8 where we set off the loud, obnoxious, honking alarm.
Friday at 6:15 we hit the road again. We stopped to grab this meal. The breakfast of champions. Neither had ever had Bojangles' Boberry Biscuits before. They were tasty, but Ma said they were nothing to write home about. Sausage biscuits, boberry biscuits and Diet Dr. Pepper...and 30 minutes later we were wondering why we felt so sleepy.
Ma drove the entire road trip (it costs more to have an underage-25 or less person on a rental car contract). She was a driving champ. Here she is with her faithful friend: coffee. Why use a rental car? She loves them. She rents them for the same reason she always buys the sampler plate at restaurants. She likes to switch things up...cars, food, hairstyles...
We made sure to snag the last easy-to-find-ChickfilA somewhere in Virginia. This state greeted us with some cooler weather.
Some scenery in VA. Did you know that Virginia is chock full of cows? There aren't any in this picture, but there were practically everywhere else. They were probably on the left and right of this picture, we're sure.
A road trip isn't complete without matching straw hats from Target.
Hello, PA, hello.
A cute goodie bag waited to welcome us to the wedding festivities and to Robin's house.

Fat Lump
Ever seen a fat lump in action? Check out this happy 13 (ish) year old dog. He happens to be carrying around a little extra weight these days...just on one side. Dog training note: he knows how to sit (that's his only trick and we didn't teach it to him) but his fat lump/bad legs makes it a little tricky.
Hobo Gloves
Ma stopped by the Suits Apartment last night. Both husbands have ministry jobs so the wives got together to fast, pray, talk about deep things and compare spiritual gifts. Or...chat with Robin, plan a road trip, text funny things to Anna, and watch hospital TV shows. "Ma, hold up your hands to get a picture of your gloves." She doesn't just hold up her hand...she throws up the peace sign. She's so thug. These are her hobo gloves. Even Vet guys at the church commented on them. BTW, that's her cellphone and it has texting. So thug and hip.
