2 Days
Hopefully we won't relive moments like this....
Or see things like this....
Hopefully we'll have happy times like this (last trip in May '09).

Bust a Move
She SAYS she studies while at college, but she really has dance parties in dorm rooms while wearing a crochet hat. Bust a move, Anna.

The Grass....
The grass is always greener at the Parker Casa!!! These pictures might not be monumental to you, but to us, it's a big deal. The work of recent landscapers has covered up evidence of teenager drivers, baseball batting nets, a big tree, garbage cans and (moment of silence) a pet dog. They replaced those things with beautiful, lush grass.
Ma & Pa haven't seen their new yard, but it'll be a nice surprise for them on Sunday! When you come by to see the house (and buy it), be careful when you drive up the driveway!

Pumpkin Pie, Anyone?
This pumpkin took home 1st place in the pumpkin contest.
Warning! DO.NOT.SCRATCH.
Congrats, Randy!!! 380 pounds of pumpkin....now that's a lot of pumpkin pie!
Rides
The rides!! (Try not to question the safety of these rides. The rides that people put up and take down in about a 2 week span).
There are 2 kinds of people in this world: people who ride spinning rides and people who don't. Which one are you? These chicks ride them. Kent does not.
This might look like a random picture, but it went something like this...
Anna: "Do you want to be on the inside or outside?"
Kait: "INSIDE!!!"
Sisterly love in a nutshell, folks.

Fair Food
This is possibly the best reason to attend the fair. It also makes you want to buy a deep fryer. The picture below is an elephant ear. If you eat it too quickly, it could be a choking hazard. *Please note that these are different from funnel cakes. Thank you.* Big enough & sweet enough to split with 2 people!
Huge fryer!
Anna was impressed by the fancy cakes
A House Divided Cake.

And let's end with the elephant ears again!
Jet Setters
The REAL reason that Dad couldn't go to the Fair was because he was too busy picking out all of his snazzy West Coast outfits! As this blog is posted, they are enjoying their first full day in California! Dr. Dad had to go to classes and Mom had to tag along and they didn't have to go 3 days early, but they did. Such a hard life. Live it up, guys!
This is the real Chuck and Shelly. Gotta love 'em. Thanks to Anna for snapping the shots!

Proof
Here is Pops No Fun Parker in the garage instead of jumping in the car for a late night visit to the fair. PS: Don't judge the current state of the garage. They're preparing to move to a remote part of the world (and we're going to milk that excuse for all it's worth).
The Fair
There are so many things that are disturbing about The State Fair. A few: Over priced food, germs, strange couples showing entirely too much PDA (Public Display of Affection for anyone who's not in high school yet or lives under a rock). HOWEVER, it does provide us with fun memories and full bellies. Here's Fair Group '10 from the Parker House. Dad wouldn't let Mom go because they're gutting the kitchen. We're not throwing him under the bus...just ask him, he'll tell you! (and give you 6 more reasons why we shouldn't have even thought about inviting her in the first place.) We missed you Mom!!
The first view from the street. Fun!!
We grabbed some photos while there-- we'll share some highlights. Not good quality or artsy photos. Just regular ol' "I went to the fair with my camera" photos. Stay tuned faithful blog readers, whom we love.

A Letter
Dear Patchypatchypoopoo,
Yesterday you turned 8 weeks old. Your favorite things to do are play with your lion, earn treats and cuddle. You eat about 2 cups of dry dog food a day. You're learning to walk on the leash and respect your Pack Leader. You're growing like a weed. Your Dad and I are already attached to you after just 1 week and 2 days of having you. Your real Mom died after she gave birth to you. Sorry you'll never know her, but if you want to meet your Dad, we can discuss it when you're old enough (possibly 18 dog years old?) Don't let anyone make fun of you because you are "vision impaired". Okay, we make fun of you sometimes... like when you ran into the door last night. Dad says I get "nervous energy" when I'm around you. I think he's right. I'm afraid you will nibble my ankles, but I also think that he's too big a fan of The Dog Whisperer. This week you'll get to meet Aunt Anna. She's cool. I hope you understand when we accidentally call you Squince. This is our second go-round (no offense). I couldn't imagine this house without you, but if you keep leaving huge puddles of peepee on my carpet, you might get shipped back to Charlotte.
All my love,
Mom

Piece by Piece
Here are a couple pictures of the Parker Casa as it gets updated piece by piece and room by room. This is a section of the kitchen counter.
This is the upstairs bathroom.
This is Charles Ty Pennington Parker painting the outside of the garage opening. He insisted this project was lame and useless, but his wife Shelly Martha Stewart Parker made him do it. So, do us a favor...the next time you visit, make a big deal about how great the garage opening looks. Thanks.

Flashback Friday
In exactly 29 days, the scene will look something like this.... Flashback to 2006(ish).
Who's in?? Who's excited?? Who can feel the socks and sandals on your feet and the campfire burning your eyeballs?
